Preliminary Evaluation of Calibrating Haptic Augmented Virtuality Systems
- Abstract
- Haptic augmented virtuality systems may be useful in many immersive virtual environments. This system requires accurate calibration for collocating virtual objects with real objects so that a user can touch or grasp the real object while he/she only sees the virtual object. This paper presents preliminary results for evaluation of the calibration method that had been proposed by authors. Evaluation results show that collocation can be made with a high accuracy and with a simple calibration method.
