Abstract
또한, 유연 소자 제 작 공정은 소프트 로봇과 같은 부드러운 표면 위에서의 적용 가능성을 확인하였다.|Various types of gas sensors have been developed, including metal oxide semiconductor (MOS) type sensors and MEMS-based sensors. A thermal conductivity detector (TCD) type gas sensors can identify gases by their distinct thermal conductivities. TCD operates by Joule-heating a sensing element. When the surrounding gas changes, the heat loss varies depending on thermal conductivity, resulting in temperature differences at the surface of the sensing material. In this study, the 3ω method with alternating current (AC) source was employed. Originally developed for measuring the thermal conductivity of materials, the 3ω method enables lower operating temperatures than conventional DC heating (〉100°C) and can reduce the influence of the substrate during gas sensing by controlling the operating frequency. To select operating frequency that reduces the substrate influence, temperature simulation was implemented. This work demonstrates sensing of volatile organic compound (VOC) simulant gas using a thermal conductivity detector (TCD) type sensor. Because TCD sensors rely on heat transfer differences rather than surface reactions, they offer wide detection range of gases and low power consumption. A transition-metal dichalcogenide (TMD) with a high temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) at a thin thickness was employed as a sensing material. The high TCR of TMD materials (e.g. MoS2, MoTe2) enhance the resistive response to small temperature changes. The thin thickness of sensing layer reduces its thermal mass, enabling a fast response time. Flexible device fabrication demonstrates the feasibility of conformal integration on soft surfaces, such as soft robotic grippers.
