- Abstract
- A phantom sensation refers to a single sensation occurring midway of multiple stimuli. Many researchers have estimated its perceptual performances by assuming the singleobject visual motions but the matching performance to the illusion has not been rigorously compared. Therefore, we rated 2D phantom sensations’ synchronization to three visual motions using one, two, and four circles, and median scores of motion matching were 63, 74, and 78 and those of colocation were 62, 73, and 78 for one, two, and four circle motions, respectively. In summary, 2D phantom sensations were more appropriate in describing two moving objects, still the conventional single motions seemed weakly matching to the 2D phantom sensations.
