Abstract
In this study, a method to correct a turbulence model using field inversion is proposed in order to predict complex flow around a multi-element wing. The unique structural and flow characteristics of a multi-element wing impose a significant challenge in aerodynamic simulation with a conventional turbulence model. To address this issue, the field inversion method is adopted in this study to correct a turbulence model. The corrected turbulence model is evaluated by comparing experimental data with numerical results. The corrected turbulence model improves the flow prediction around the multi-element geometry compared to the baseline model. This study demonstrates an effective approach to modify a turbulence model which could be used in the simulation of complex flow including flow separation from multiple bodies.
