Highly photostable laser solution and solid-state media based on mixed pyrromethene and coumarin

Metadata Downloads
Abstract
A substantial increase in the photostability of pyrromethene 567 laser dye solutions and in solid polymer media has been achieved by the addition of coumarin C540 laser dye. Up to five times increase in photostability of pyrromethene 567 in solid and two times in solution has been observed. The enhanced photostability is attributed to reduction in the effectiveness of in situ oxygen degradation of pyrromethene by the addition of the coumarin. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science Ltd.
