Ultra-thin color films with highly absorbing porous media for colorimetric detection

Abstract
We present ultra-thin colorimetric sensor with highly absorbent porous media. Optical design and analysis of ultra-thin films with different coating layers for colorimetric detection are demonstrated with reflection dip and color difference. Large area samples on flexible substrate are fabricated by using oblique angle deposition (OAD). The results show the colorimetric change of ultra-thin films with external change on surface such as refractive index and thickness. The uniformly fabricated samples are tested with refractive index liquids and solvents. Color responsiveness and sensitivity of ultra-thin films with different coating layers are also discussed.
