Plasmonic metasurfaces with unclonable stochastic scatterings

Abstract
We fabricate quasi-ordered gold nanoparticles onto a metallic mirror using electrostatic self-assembly, achieving both uniform far-field colors and unique near-field stochastic scattering patterns. These plasmonic metasurfaces generate physically unclonable functions (PUFs) with high security potential, offering applications in authentication and data protection.
