Abstract
With the advent of the IoT era, the demand for autonomous wearable smart devices, particularly electronic skins (e-skins), has grown significantly for seamless human-machine interfaces (HMIs). However, conventional approaches utilizing organic materials or rigid bulk chips often face limitations in optoelectronic performance and mechanical conformability, while also struggling with the continuous power supply required for long-term monitoring. In this talk, I will introduce recent advancements in heterogeneously-integrated deformable optoelectronic systems designed for precise biostimulation and energy-efficient biosensing. By utilizing high-performance inorganic semiconductors on functional substrates, we address the limitations of existing soft electronics. The presentation will cover the fabrication of high-performance active components, specifically flexible microLEDs for effective biostimulation and self-powered photodetectors. Furthermore, I will demonstrate a fully integrated wearable system realized through the heterogeneous integration of these technologies, providing a robust path toward the realization of truly self-sustainable and high-performance bio-integrated electronics.
