- Abstract
- With the advent of the IoT era, wearable smart devices, particularly electronic skins (e-skins), have emerged as critical tools for novel human-machine interfaces (HMIs). However, conventional approaches utilizing organic materials or rigid bulk chips often face limitations in optoelectronic performance and mechanical conformability, restricting their stability in dynamic biological environments. In this talk, I will introduce recent advancements in heterogeneously-integrated deformable optoelectronic systems designed for precise biostimulation and biosensing. By utilizing high-performance inorganic semiconductors on functional substrates, we address the limitations of existing soft electronics. The presentation will cover the fabrication of high-performance active components, specifically flexible microLEDs for effective biostimulation and Transition Metal Dichalcogenide (TMD)-based photodetectors for high-sensitivity sensing. Furthermore, I will demonstrate a fully integrated wearable system realized through the heterogeneous integration of these technologies, offering a robust and high-performance solution for nextgeneration bio-integrated electronics
