- Abstract
- Photobiomodulation (PBM) has been emerged as a novel manner to stimulate or modulate neural activity. Cytochrome c oxidase (CCO) is an important internal metabolic marker enzyme for neurons and plays an essential role in the action mechanism of PBM. In this study, a broadband near-infrared spectroscopy (bb-NIRS) system was used to investigate the effects of light-emitting diode (LED) PBM on the CCO redox state and hemodynamic change using a rat model. The results will be used to consolidate the underlying mechanisms of near-infrared light PBM.
