Abstract
High harmonic generation (HHG) is a widely used method for producing coherent and ultrashort light in the extreme ultraviolet (EUV) range. The harmonic pulse is produced by the interaction between the intense electric field of the femtosecond Ti:Sapphire laser pulse and noble gas atoms. To characterize the EUV light produced via the HHG process, a grazing-incidence flat-field EUV spectrometer is employed. The
properties of the EUV source are investigated by changing several experimental conditions, such as the gas pressure, laser pulse energy, focal spot size, and so on. Finally, the absorption spectrum of the aluminum film is obtained via the pump-probe technique setup by using the developed EUV light as a probe beam. This source can be used to study the physical properties of warm dense matter.
