- Abstract
- The Internet of Things (IoT) - related services are becoming the basis for linking with the cloud infrastructure to process and store sensor data collected from distributed IoT devices. In addition, various types of IoT devices are supported, and interfaces supported by IoT devices are also diversied. As the interface has become more diverse, there has been a need to respond to wired/wireless multi-access. IoT devices that utilize multiple interfaces utilize Software- Dened Networking (SDN) as one of the best ways to deal with networking failures. In this paper, we propose a SmartX miniBox that supports both wired/wireless
interfaces simultaneously, so that IoT devices supporting multiple interfaces can access
to SmartX miniBox using multiple interfaces. Also, we propose SDN-based Monitor /
Control functionality that can monitor the network interface status of the IoT device
boxes and link state between the network switches. And control the data transfer
through the network interface and network switches.
Finally, we perform kafka based video data transfer under the control of SDN based
Monitor / Control functionality. Because Kafka has an inappropriate feature to send
video directly, the video data is transferred in frame units. In this environment, we
measure network recovery time of SDN-based Monitor / Control functionality.
