- Abstract
- Gauge/gravity duality (or the AdS/CFT correspondence) has provided a novel and effective tool for solving problems in many areas of theoretical physics. This duality states that the strongly interacting field theory can of physics such as quantum chromodynamics,
condensed matter physics, fluid dynamics, and quantum information.
In this thesis, I review my works in following two branches of physics using gravity models:
1. Condensed matter physics; namely “ Anti-de Sitter/Condensed Matter Theory (AdS/CMT) ”
2. Quantum information; namely “ Anti-de Sitter/Quantum Information (AdS/QI) ”
These are important applications of gauge/gravity duality in the following senses. AdS/CMT is a theoretically tractable program to study strongly coupled systems in condensed matter physics such as high-temperature superconductors, non-Fermi liquid. Furthermore, we can use AdS/QI to investigate a new perspective on the nature of (quantum) gravity in that gravity may not be a fundamental concept but rather be emergent from other fundamental physics.
