- Abstract
- Enzyme-coupled reactions of horseradish peroxidase (HRP) and various other oxidases have been
intensively used in the field of biosensing. However, the intrinsic drawbacks of HRP, including sensitivity to
assay conditions, high cost for preparation, purification, and storage processes, limit further applications of
HRP in biosensing. To overcome these drawbacks, we herein designed colorimetric assay for glucose based on
[Mn2(bpmp)]3+, which possesses peroxidase-like activity and whose activity was notably enhanced by ADP.
Under [Mn2(bpmp)]3+/ADP/ABTS/glucose oxidase system, real-time detection of glucose was successfully
performed at 25 ℃ and pH 7.0 in one step sequence. As an extension, colorimetric detection of cholesterol was
also conducted based on our system.
