Abstract
In modern society, the elderly population is increasing due to the development of medical technology. It is expected that the population of Korea over 65 will grow to 11% of the total population in 2010, 24.3% in 2030, and 40.1% in 2060. There are many factors that threaten the health of the elderly. Falls, in particular, are a major threat to death. For this reason, various algorithms and hardware systems capable of detecting falls have been studied. There is an existing fall detection algorithm that detects falls using the difference between the minimum and maximum values of the acceleration sensor measured at the time of fall, that is, the threshold value. However, there are disadvantages such as recognizing other actions in actual measurement. In this paper, we focus on the study of equipment design that shows higher accuracy by complementing the shortcomings of this fall detection equipment.
