The role of thermal effect in the optical nonlinearity of BiI3 semiconductor microcluster colloid

- Abstract
- We performed the light induced grating spectroscopy(LIGS) and the degenerate four wave mix -
ing(DFWM) in BiI3 microcluster at 488nm region, and have found that the nonlinearty caused by
thermal grating effect dominates the nonlinearty caused by electronic effect in this region. We have
further investigated intensity dependence of thermal grating signal of polarization spectroscopy and
the optical amplification of the signal due to electronic susceptibility was observed.
