Conjugated polymer/fullerene composites as a new class of optoelectronic material: Application to organic photovoltaic cells

Metadata Downloads
Abstract
We fabricated organic photovoltaic cell devices by using MEH-PPV/C-60 composites with various concentrations of C-60. The devices exhibit photoluminescence quenching and an enhancement in the photovoltaic effect with increasing C-60 concentration, both of which are associated with the photoinduced charge transfer characteristic of these materials. For the 20 % (weight ratio C-60 to MEH-PPV) composite device, Ne observed the incident light intensity dependence of the short circuit current (I-sc). Our results demonstrate the potential of these materials as a new class of high-performance organic photovoltaic cell.
