SPECTRAL PROPERTIES OF Bi-Er-Yb TRIPLY DOPED BOROSILICATE GLASSES WITH 805nm EXCITATION

Metadata Downloads
Abstract
Spectral properties of the Bi-Er-Yb triply doped borosilicate glasses with different concentrations of bismuth were investigated. Broad absorption bands appeared at 300-1700nm and the emission bands in near infrared and visible wavelength regions from Er 3+ and Yb 3+ ions showed efficient enhancement in peak intensity due to the incorporation of bismuth upon excitation at 805nm. Possible energy transfer mechanisms of Er 3+, Yb 3+ and bismuth ions were proposed.
