Composite nanofiber membrane for oil/water separation

Metadata Downloads
Abstract
Recently, oil/water separation has become a crucial process due to ever-increasing industrial oily wastewater and frequent oil spill accident, which have long-term and fatal effects on the ecosystem. This study introduced two types of nanofiber membrane for oil/water separation. The first type is Janus electrospun nanofiber membrane (J-ENMs), which comprises of opposite property on each side of the membrane. Different cooperated capillary pressures were controlled to investigate the relation between capillary pressure and flux. Another type of membrane fabricated by blend amphiphilic copolymer with PES solution in various concentrations. The effect of the amphiphilic copolymer will be discuss in the study.
