Abstract
This paper presents a method of position-based augmented reality (AR) in an indoor environment for industrial applications. The position is important in AR because one can obtain position-specific information when a user reaches a point. We use a method of estimating the position using inertial sensors. For a robust estimation, we use a two-layered filter consisting of Extended Kalman Filter as a lower filter and particle filter as an upper filter, which interact to yield a robust position estimate. An AR method is developed to augment necessary information at the estimated position where the user stands. The concept of the proposed method is demonstrated with some examples.
