Effects of MWT radiation on sidelobe levels in mm-wave microstrip array antenna

Metadata Downloads
Abstract
The effects of unwanted radiation from microstrip-to-waveguide transition (MWT) on a millimeter-wave microstrip array antenna was investigated. Spurious radiation was observed when an MWT was used to feed the array antenna. The unwanted MWT radiation was shown to be coupled to the array antenna elements causing the spurious radiation. The spurious radiation was shown to decrease by blocking the direct radiation from the MWT toward the array antenna.
