High purity additive colors by 1D metal-insulator resonators

Metadata Downloads
Abstract
Non-patterned structures have been explored due to the advantages of manufacturing process such as large-area applications and mass-production. Among them, metal-insulator-metal (MIM) structure has lots of attention because of strong resonance. However, subtractive color system of MIM structure hinders broad application for reflective color filters. Here, we present doubly stacked metal-insulator (MIMIM) structures. Our proposed structures provide tunable dual-resonance mode. By altering reflectance dips, we achieved high purity additive colors (i.e., red, green, and blue).
