Large area polarization sensitive ultra-thin color filter

Abstract

We demonstrate the ultra-thin color filter which has polarization sensitivity and can be fabricated with large area. This ultra-thin film is fabricated by oblique angle deposition process which consists of highly structured tilted nano-columns. This tilted geometry reveals an anisotropic birefringence property and we characterize it with simulation and experiment in terms of optical property changes.
