Abstract
Food poisoning is a disease that frequently occurs every year, and a prompt and accurate on site inspection system is required to ensure sanitation and safety of food materials. Efficient food pretreatment is an essential process in sol ving time and cost difficulties in detecting foodborne pathogens. Therefore, this study aims to establish the food pretreatment process, including concentration and separation for Vibrio parahaemolyticus , which is found most often in seafood. The bacterial concentration factor and separation efficiency were evaluated using a three dimensional microfluidic device with magnetophoretic force. As a result of the performance evaluation, the concentration factor was about 70 times and the separation efficiency 96% under a high flow rate of 40 mL/h.
