Abstract
Plasmonic nanoparticles are building blocks of metallic nanostructures that give rise to intriguing optical phenomena. The ability to design plasmonic hybrid structures and metal nanoparticles with nanometric resolution in large areas would enable applications in optical metamaterials, nanopixels, display, and sensing that presently cannot be demonstrated.
Here we demonstrate simple wafer-scale plasmonic nanoparticles and nano-chains by e-beam evaporation and annealing process. In combination with conductive polymer, here polyaniline, we show that electronically changeable active colors across the whole visible regime, leading to a wafer-level electrochromic films, which would enable a number of promising nanophotonic applications.
