Abstract
Physically Unclonable Function (PUF) is increasingly emerging as secure keys for device authentication in the state-ofthe-art Internet-of-Things (IoT) applications. Here we propose optical PUF device using plasmonics, which exhibit multilevel intensity variations in each pixel based on the forms of plasmonic
oligomers. In order to implement this, we design an theoretically explore the plasmonic resonant features of various types of oligomer structures, such as dimers and trimers, which experimentally fabricated through the combination of wafer-scale film growth and nanoparticle coating methods. Depending on the
forms of the plasmonic oligomers, they exhibit large intensity contrasts, allowing us to use them for the optical PUF operations at the nanoscale.
