Onset of superfluidity in two-dimensional Rashba spin-orbit-coupled Fermi gases

Abstract
We investigate the second-order diagrammatic correction to the superfluid transition temperature of Rashba spin-orbit-coupled Fermi gases in two dimensions. While the usual Gorkov correction for the two- dimensional Fermi gas is still a good approximation in the weak spin-orbit coupling limit, we find that as the spin-orbit coupling get stronger, the reduction in the mean-field critical temperature becomes significantly large. We also estimate the corresponding change in the Berezinskii-Kosterlitz-Thouless transition in the BCS limit, providing the superfluid transition temperature with the correction as a function of the spin-orbit coupling strength.
