Large-scale silicon photonic switches with MEMS

Abstract
We review the state of the art of silicon photonic switches with MEMS actuation, which have high scalability, low power consumption, and digital switching characteristic. We also present the potential of polarization insensitive switching by MEMS-actuated silicon photonic switches.
