- Abstract
- Bullet design is related to the muzzle phenomena such as muzzle blast. The muzzle blast which causes the gun recoil can be controlled by a bullet shape. Air-guiding grooves were invented to improve bullet performance. In this paper, effects of the air-guiding grooves were investigated by using a recoil sensor and a high speed camera. Current results indicate that a new design of a bullet with air-guiding grooves is able to control the muzzle blast, which eventually helps to reduce the gun recoil.
