Photoinduced insulator-metal transition in VO2 polymorphs

Abstract
The electronic transition and structural transition of VO2 M1, M3, and A phases were confirmed through the optical pump optical probe (OPOP) and optical pump terahertz probe (OPTP) experiments, and the responses between the electron and the lattice structure were separated and confirmed by comparing the two results. The OPOP experiment showed that the critical fluence of the electronic structure of the A phase and the critical fluence of the lattice structural transition are different, possibly suggesting that the two transitions are decoupled. Also, through the OPTP experiment of M3, it was revealed that the insulator-metal transition occurred even at 3 ps, and the fluence-dependent signal becomes slowed down.
