Abstract
Autonomous vehicles (AVs) are rapidly developing, aiming to revolutionize mobility. Despite researchers
emphasizing the ethical behaviors of AVs as a main factor influencing AV acceptance, studies paid little
attention to the role of ethics in adopting AVs. We analyzed 701 articles using bibliometric techniques from
2015 to understand the distribution, emerging trends, and the research cluster in the context of ethics in
AV technology. The analysis revealed that research in this field focused on sustainable development, ethical
dilemmas, security, human interactions with AVs, and pedestrian interaction. Moreover, additional research
is needed to understand the impact of AVs on health and the well-being of society
