Pressure-dependent studies of electron doped hexaboride Eu1-xLaxB6 (x=0.05, 0.1)
- Abstract
- We studied the magnetic and electronic properties of Eu1-xLaxB6 ( x = 0.05, 0.1) using magnetization M(T), resistivity rho(T), and specific heat C-p(T) measurements under high pressures and magnetic fields. A new magnetic state, characterized by irreversibility in M(T) and a broad peak in C-p(T), is observed in a ferromagnetic background. A rapid increase of resistivity at low temperatures is likely related with the emergence of the magnetic state. The applied pressure acts to enhance the magnetic and electronic properties associated with the low temperature magnetic state. (C) 2003 Elsevier B. V. All rights reserved.
