The development of a mobile remote monitoring system by using differential absorption LIDAR technology

Metadata Downloads
Abstract
A mobile differential absorption lidar (DIAL) system has been developed for pollutant gas (SO2, NO2, and O-3) measurements in the atmosphere. The system is capable of measuring SO2, NO2, and O-3 concentrations in the 0.3 similar to 2 km range with a 5-m spatial and a 2-min temporal resolution. The detection limit is found to be 5 ppb for SO2, 10 ppb for NO2, and 5 ppb for O-3. Comparisons between the results from the DIAL and the point measurement were performed. In this paper, the developed mobile DIAL system and the results will be discussed.
