Investigation of the Operation Properties of a High-power Pulsed Plasma Jet

Metadata Downloads
Abstract
This work investigates the characteristics of a. high-power pulsed plasma jet, which can be used for diverse applications including biological applications. Most of the previous plasma jets for biological applications were limited to low-power jets due to their being long-lasting plasmas. However, interesting results may be obtained by utilizing a pulsed high-power plasma jet in medical fields. In this context, a high voltage system was designed and utilized to generate a pulsed capillary-plasma jet with helium as a working gas. Two grooved sapphire blocks were used for the capillary waveguide, and the operation pressure was varied from 150 to 300 Torr. This article presents the operation properties of a pulsed plasma jet for medical applications.
