Abstract
The influence of bulk doping by various additives on both the grain size and the response of SnO2-based gas sensors is analyzed in this paper. It is shown that during bulk doping of metal oxides aimed for gas sensor application we should be very careful in selection of doping concentration, because for attainment of both strong decrease of the grain size and the improvement of thermal stability we need to use high concentration of additives, while for achievement optimization of gas sensing characteristics the concentration of additives should not exceed 1-3 %.
