Effect of group delay dispersion on single-pulse stimulated Raman scattering

Metadata Downloads
Abstract
In this paper, we theoretically investigate how spectral pulse shapes, group delays, and group delay dispersions of an input ultrashort-pulse laser affect single-beam stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) signals. We use pi-step and pi-barrier phase shaping to retrieve correct vibrational modes and remove the background by subtracting the same phase-shaping schemes but with reverse phase variation. Our results indicate that the group delay does not have any effect on the SRS signals; in addition, we obtained the conditions for ignoring the group delay dispersion effect. Our results also show that the pi-barrier phase does not have a reverse relation with the pi-well, but it does have to be shifted slightly in order to retrieve correct, enhanced vibrational SRS signals.
