Two new species of Apseudomorpha (Peracarida: Tanaidacea) from the East China Sea, with a key to the species of Phoxokalliapseudes
- Abstract
- Two new species of WandogaridaWi & Kang, 2018 and PhoxokalliapseudesDrumm & Heard, 2011 are described from the East China Sea. Wandogarida sentaeminentian. sp. is the second species to the genus Wandogarida known and can be distinguished from the type species, W. canaliculaWi & Kang, 2018, by a peculiar pleonal hyposphenium having a rugose surface and a maxillule with a biarticulate palp. The key morphological characters and the sexual dimorphism of Wandogarida were redefined after a comparison of its two species. Phoxokalliapseudes gibbusn. sp. can be differentiated from its congeners by an antennular article 1 having a robust spiniform seta and a pleopod exopodite having a process with setules. A key to the seven species of Phoxokalliapseudes is provided, together with a discussion of the diversity and distribution of the tanaidaceans of the East China Sea.
