Abstract
The proportion of renewable energy in the power system is increasing. Grid-connected inverter is essential for connecting renewable energy to the grid. The inrush current generated when the grid-connected inverter starts can cause problems. The inrush current instantaneously generates over-current, causing tripping of the breaker or damage to the device. Conventional methods suggest various ways to mitigate inrush current. They do not eliminate the underlying cause or only confirm the results at a certain point in time. In this paper, a new method is proposed to mitigate the root cause of inrush current. It is also possible to identify and select the optimal starting point. The proposed method checks the results by simulation, and then the results are verified in experiment using DSP and real inverter.
